S.A.C.K.A....Day 4
Thursday, December 10, 2009
I didn’t take the camera today. I did not feel like packing it around my neck. And you know how, when you don’t take your camera an opportunity arises and you can’t believe that you don’t have your camera with you?????? yeah, well that didn’t happen.
In fact it was pretty quiet. so there was not a lot to tell.
Oh, there was this one old man who told me a joke...
“a woman was standing at the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle when a man approached her
he told her that he was a traveling sales man staying in town alone
she smiled and rang her bell
noticing his wedding band she asked him if his wife was travelling with him
he said no she was not but he sure was lonely and would love some company
she promptly told him that she was working for the needy NOT the greedy....”
yup, that was it.....mmmmm
I did have some excitement when I came home, however. There was a package waiting for me...from a certain kiwi girl from a certain blog:
My tea towel came!!! From the lovely Gail...
blog and you get goodies...yup that’s right
Action Man goodies!!!
And look how lovely it was wrapped with a
nice card too...loved it
I will find a home for it after the holiday.
Gail I want you to know that your flower has found
a home on our little artificial tree.
After the boys came home from school Steve and I took off for a few hours to do some “Christmas shopping” . (We are actually not doing bi gift shopping this year for the boys...we have been cutting back every year and this year was the year that Steve came on board with my idea of no gifts. we will stuff their stockings and they will receive the usual new p.j.’s, socks, boxers...that sort of thing. But the fact is they have such a large extended family they receive so much from all them...they also both have birthdays in January and then there is the financial stress that Christmas can put on a budget run family.....but that story is for another time.)
So really the “Christmas shopping” story was just an excuse to get out of the house for while on our own. That was nice.
We went to Chapters first..and then the mall.
I have to come clean....I LOVE Chapters...I have such a love for books and I could loose myself in that store. The smell of all those new books....mmmm....and all of them waiting to be opened....oh yeah, I love it...
So with that said I have to come clean and tell you I bought something..well two things for myself.
I bought “Lucky” a memoir by Alice Sebold
author of “The Lovely Bones”. “The Lovely
Bones” was birthed out of writing this
memoir. I started it today and it already has
me.
Also I bought Sarah Brightman’s Christmas
C.D. “A Winter Symphony”....
So what do you think?
Naughty or Nice?
Then is was back home in time to get
The Rock Star off to his youth group
and me to get these Christmas cards out.
So tonight I will leave you with a bit of Sarah sining one of my all time favourite songs....
I have to admit that she has a little “crazy eye” action going on in the beginning...maybe too much work???
Getting past that....I things she sings like an angel....enjoy

usually I take my own pictures of myself...for whatever reason I am more comfortable with that....this time The Horticulturalist took a BUNCH of me with my Santa hat...I did not find that enjoyable...I prefer being behind the lens.
